Rising full moon in Midgard, land of the brave.

I was in the middle of a conversation with the local barkeeper in Huginfell when I felt someone pulling my mantle. I turned around and saw a little boy standing there with a scroll in one hand and the end of my mantle in the other. I put down my ale and took the scroll from his hand, replacing it with a copper coin. The boy smiled and ran off. The scroll was sealed with the marking of Yggdrasil's Children. I broke the seal and began to read. It was from Mjolnihr. The message was short. It read, "Hail to thee Grubb, Child of Yggdrasil. I need your assistance. Meet me at Yggdra Keep as soon as you receive this scroll. Mjolnihr Stormheart." I tucked the scroll in my belt, quickly finished my ale and headed off.

I arrived at the keep and didn't have to wait long before Mjolnihr showed up. He explained about a quest he was on, something about a magical helmet. As we were about to embark on our journey, we suddenly realized that we were surrounded by a horde of Wind Sprites. Mjolnihr didn't waste any time. Swiftly he reached for his sword and without any thoughts of his own safety he ran right at the horde with his sword. It took me a second or two to react. I reached over my shoulder for the axe hanging on my back. When I reached Mjolnihr there was only one sprite left, the one called Swift. Together we assailed it, until the spirit lay lifeless on the ground.

The journey continued southwest into a forest filled with dangers. There were savage lynx's, fearsome packs of wolves and some highly trained blodfelag. We encountered a sorceress named Ulga. She never stood a chance against two Vikings thirsty for fame and glory. Finally we saw a camp of in the distance. A blodfelag camp filled with warriors and wizards. We stopped about a hundred yards from the nearest building. I looked at Mjolnihr as he started to chant words unknown to me. He raised his hand, and as I looked up into the sky, I could see the clouds part and form a huge hole. Suddenly, a huge bolt of lighting streaked down from the heavens and struck my guild leader. I swear that in that moment I saw the great god Thor ride across the sky on his chariot, wielding his great hammer which gave the name to my companion. Mjolnihr was blessed with holy strength.

He ran towards the camp out of my vision. Not long after, he came running back, but not alone. After him came three fearsome warriors followed by a sorcerer. When Mjolnihr reached my location, he turned around and again started chanting. He brought forth a huge lightning bolt that blazed from the sky, straight down upon his pursuers. I squeezed the shaft of my axe with both hands, and felt the sweat run down my brow. It felt like hours past by, everything seemed to go in slow motion.

The warriors slammed in to us with a huge clash. Axes and sword were swung from left to right. And the screams that came from the bandits when my companion ran his sword threw them were deafening. I evaded a thrust from one of the men coming at me and in response I gave him a taste of my two-handed axe as it sunk deep into his chest. But just as I had released my axe from his body, I felt a huge blow against my neck and everything went black.

As I woke up again I saw Mjolnihr, standing beside me. There was a streak of blood running from his forehead, down his cheek and into his beard. He held his sword with one hand, the tip resting in the ground. In his other hand, he held a strange helmet. I looked up again, and he gave me a smile.

The End
