Maintaining A Good Reputation:
You will be honorable in your dealings with others and offer what aid you can at every opportunity. You must respect all other players whether they are in the guild or not. You will conduct yourself with dignity and preserve the reputation of the guild.
Guild Chat:
The use of guild chat should be reserved for DAoC topics. Do not discuss problems or guild criticisms in guild chat, which only draws others into a debate and cause tension. We do not permit offensive language or terms in Guild Chat. Please refrain from extensive conversations in guild chat, especially if the topic is not DAoC related. We hope that you will have the maturity to discern what is proper and acceptable.
Trade Skills:
You must learn a trade skill in order to become a Child of Yggdrasil. Items crafted are sold to guildmates at 10% profit over the cost of materials. This enables you to continue practicing your trade while providing a valuable service to the guild. You may set prices as you wish when selling to non-guildmates, but remember that reasonable rates reflect favorably on the guild.
Equipment, Dues & The Treasury:
You are expected to give your old equipment to a lower level member of the guild who needs it. This helps them to level quicker (by dying less), saves them money and strengthens the guild. Upon promotion to Child of Yggdrasil and having attained 25th level, you will pay 10 gold dues to the guild. At 40th level you will pay an additional 40 gold. These figures may seem high if your new to the game, but when you reach higher levels you will find they are very modest sums and very easy to afford. The treasury helps support our Artisans with their chosen trade skills. A treasury page is displayed on the web-site accounting for each members contributions. It also displays where and how the dues are being spent. We do not allow begging for cash or equipment. Asking people for handouts makes the guild look bad. Whatever you need should be obtained through the guild or bought at a fair price. The guild will not hoard funds, whatever it takes in will be used to benefit our members. The Guild Leader, Advisors and the Generals determine the best use for treasury funds.
Authority:
There is a clear chain of command in the guild. We expect you to communicate openly and frequently with your superior. The authority of any member is extremely limited. No one is empowered to give orders to any other member. Your superiors have your best interest at heart. They may need to correct you if your actions or attitude might reflect poorly on the guild.
The Chain of Command:
The chain of command is as follows: Exemplar, Commander, General and Guild Leader. If you have any problem or question speak to your supervising officer. As a Trainee, your Exemplar is your supervising officer but is also responsible for assisting you in any way possible. Speak to your Exemplar frequently. During your first week with the guild, if you find that you have very little contact with your Exemplar, please inform a higher ranking officer so that we can re-assign you to someone who has more compatible playing hours to your own.
Communication:
Do not hesitate to speak your mind. We value each member's opinion and will consider everyone's suggestions seriously. Just remember that listening to your opinion does not mean we will necessarily agree with you, and not agreeing with you doesn't mean that we don't value your opinion. If you have an issue with the guild or a member, always think it through until you come up with a possible solution.
Group Leaders:
Whenever members form a group they should decide upon a group leader. Everyone in the group should follow the instructions of that group leader. The group leader chooses a location that he/she knows well. If you disagree with any decision by the group leader, use /send to express your opinion. Never contradict the group leader in group-chat. If the group leader does not share your view, drop the matter. Following these simple rules will help ensure that groups run smoothly.
Fellowship & Unity:
Increasing the fun and enjoying of the game is the ultimate goal of joining a guild. We seek mature, responsible people as our members. We do not tolerate complaining, arguing or insults between members. Anyone causing one member to turn against another will be expelled. We seek to create a guild in which members have a team mentality, work together and have fun.
